Sally Hansen, Ravens, and Lava

I really have a thing for black polishes that are not cremes. I don't have too many blacks, most are workhorses as bases. So creme does the job, but I have a couple shimmers and I am still looking for a black foil.

Here is a shimmer with shiny silver flecks, Raven's Wing:

It's in a jelly base and this is before the top coat, so it is shiny, but not super squishy or candy-like. It needed three coats and on my index finger (upper right) you can see where I didn't get enough of the last coat on to get a good density.

Yet another untried from the Dollar Store days (I had to pick up a couple things and their nail polish now seems to be almost gone, not even L.A. Colors, just some random off-brand - I always look...habit!). I guess for some reason I never had an urge to try it.

I couldn't leave it alone, though, because I wanted to see what Orly 15 Minutes of Fame would do over the top.

Here is the result:

This is two coats. I really don't know how to describe this one. It has microglitter that is silvery at first glance, but with the right light is holographic. It has iridescent flakes - though mine are really firm at the bottom and not represented well here (not to self: thinner and a paper clip!)

It's described as a "pink coral" (no longer on Orly's site, but all over the place for sale) but mine really is just a red jelly, very translucent, which is why I tried the topper.

I definitely get a magma vibe, which is nice.

I believe the silvery flecks of the Sally Hansen help the Orly pop, but it's hard to say.

Thanks for reading my little nail polish journal!
