Bright Opal - 12
A bright and beautiful amber that gently shifts between a cool bronze and a soft pinkish copper:
From left to right:
- Two coats
- One coat
- Two coats
- One coat
You can see the red shimmer
Wiht the two coats it appears to be quite dense and of all of the Opals seems to cover pretty well. Not a huge color shift, though, but a pretty metallic.
Not much more to say here: the usual Sally formula and some brushstrokes.
Pure White Opal - 1
Pure white? Not so much, but a lot of milkiness to the base makes this a definite one-coater:
I don't think I need to label which has the second coat, do I? It is a very unique bottle of polish: going from a simply sweet emerald glow to a heavy seafoam green with the second coat. Wow!
You can see that I turned into a pinkish person wearing this, and this is after I removed a bit of red. I think it also may have been my camera setting. One day I may actually pass for someone who actually can take a decent nail photo. I feel often like it's an uphill battle to get it all to come together. I won't blame my camera, Cartier-Bresson never had a fancy camera, now did he?
Of course there were bubbles, and I am not sure why, I made sure each previous coat was completely dry, but I did not thin the SH Pure White Opal.
This might be the perfect thing to try to franken a red with a green shimmer, kind of a thing I've had on my mind for a while. The base of the L.A. Girl Metallic Green 262 might be a shade too dark, where this is pretty much white. Or a lukewarm creamy white.
One more batch!
Thanks for reading my little nail polish journal!
Wow, I love that first one! They both look great, though I think I prefer the second one a bit more sheer over the black. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteI agree, that green is amazing!
