Lavender Redux

About two months ago I posted a series on some similar lavender polishes, one of which was E.L.F. Lilac. It is a grayed out lavender, a bit of a sheer, more like a jelly, perhaps a sorbet, whatever with the food names, they make me hungry! I thought it was pretty grayed out, and mentioned Orly Bon Bon. Well, in my TWO HELMER DRAWER "To Do" list, I grabbed these guys and wanted to get them done.

The orginal post with the E.L.F. Lilac is here.

I grabbed Orly Bon Bon and E.L.F. Lilac and quickly put three coats each on to see how close they actually are:

From left to right:
  • E.L.F. Lilac
  • Orly Bon Bon

  • Orly Bon Bon

Not really close at all!

Both feel soft, milky, and quite frankly a little bit like poetry on a wet spring morning in Kent, England. Though while I lived there, I would be taking care of horses, not reading poetry, but this is what both of these polishes remind me of. Very gentle rain falling on a quiet day where the flowers aren't yet really blooming, but you know it's no longer winter.

I just put both of these as an offer for a swap, but now I am reconsidering. I enjoy both formulas and both colors.

This is my problem, even polishes I think I may not like, I usually end up liking. Well, I love all colors, it seems, if the finish and the formula aren't too tricky!

Here are the bottles:

I guess I really should use lower case with E.L.F., but I am committed to this method! :D

Thanks for reading my little nail polish journal!

  1. I don't hate these, but the three layers & still sheer thing would drive me nuts. Lovely! but best admired from afar.
