Pure Ice Dupes Itself and Zoya

Don't know about you, but when I buy a dupe it kind of grates on me, I mean, dang, when you have a backup already, you meander through the store, a color catches your eye, you think "wow, green foil!"

Oy vey.

First up, forgive the darn photos. My lens got something on it and I swear it looks like I am trying to do a glamour shot or something half baked!

Ok, all are three coats, no top coats.

First up is Pure Ice Champagne, apparently I grabbed it and stored it away somewhere.

This is one I had when I meandered into Walmartland and found:

What? No. How did that happen?

Here's a comparison:

Left to right:
  • Champagne
  • Twisted
  • Champagne
  • Twisted

Well. What could be the problem with a passel of great greens?
Ha.

Zoya Charla seems have some friends in the field...

My photos do lack the gilded flash that is also in Charla and these Pure Ice polishes.

Now I have a lot of these glass fleck green foils.

Just so you know, if you have one, you probably don't need the rest.

Pure Ice formula is pretty tight, too. Worthy little polish. Zoya holds its head up well, and I feel like if you have Charla, you want to take a pass on these Pure Ices (and also be aware that Pure Ice renamed their polish, too. Unless, I wonder, that somehow Champagne is completely mislabeled.)

Thanks for reading my little nail polish journal!

  1. It's quite possible that one or the other is mislabeled. I have a Pure Ice nail polish here labeled "Cheatin", which it clearly is not - it's Purple Reign. Cheatin is a purple and blue glitter topcoat, and my bottle is a plum/mauve with lots of gold shimmer.

Or they could have renamed it in their recent great renaming.

    1. Thank you, it just dawned on me when I pulled these out to "file" them by color and I saw that the two were the same.
      :D
      The Great Renaming! LOL!

  2. Renaming and mislabeling both annoy me. :( I don't mind dupes brand to brand because it's good to have different price points & formulas but dupes within a brand are not good.

    1. I agree. I sure never minded finding Peridot dupes, but the same polish, geesh!

  3. Yea one of my pure ice's was labeled as 'Iced Merlot' but after some research I figured it out to be 'Super Star' so its very possible that it was mislabele
