Blue Layering - Sally Hansen DVD and WetnWild Disco Ball

Yes, it's been a while. I had to rearrange my room and put together a third helmer, blah, blah, blah. I also have been kind of let down by some of the new collections, my Ross and Dollar Tree. I did make a massive score for Clarins 230 on eBay, I tell you now, reread my post on how to buy nail polish on eBay, it's all there, I promise, no top secret tips, just patience and diligence. I got it for $27, plus $3 shipping, and two other "extra" colors that will be like "whatever" when they arrive.

OK. First I will say that I am so glad the days are getting longer. For some reason I've been in a bad hibernation mode where getting up early is almost impossible. Worse, I'm missing the scant daylight the Pacific Northwest even affords us mammals, so blogging has fallen off due to my long list of things that never get done.

I did manage to crack open some stuff I've been meaning to get to.

Here is a favorit of mine, Sally Hansen DVD

I've got it layered one coat over a base of black and then alternating with a pale beige/pink, aka nude, to see how it is just as a top coat. It is photographed with a single color corrected light, but it doesn't really show much of the purple duochrome on this, you can see it a bit on the index on the left.

I love this polish, it's gorgeous. I think that Sally Hansen gets a lot of cool colors out fast as lightening, and these glassy flecked finishes are pretty amazing. It's got a violet blue base, wich is nice, I think that's two coats on my index and middle finger and one coat on my ring and pinkie. Just to see how it looks. I honestly don't think I need to afford the CND sparkle top coats with this in my arsenal.

Then I wanted to see how it would look if I just layered it on.

I think this is three coats. It's still gorgeous. Index and ring finger I added WetnWild Disco Ball.

I do believe Disco Ball is a discontinued color by WetnWild, so if you find it grab it. It's iridescent and it is translucent, so it layers like a champion! I think there is a Cover Girl version, but perhaps with bigger glitter particles, and I am sure that Color Club has a similar one, so all is not lost.
