Bedazzled Toned Down

Here is a little sandwiching I tried with a couple of pretty el cheap-o polishes.

I was going to call this blog "Faux Lippman" but felt that I was better serving the polish by talking about the glitter.

Here is the result:

I was kind of surprised by this!

I didn't do clean up, and I've been losing millimeter by millimeter of my nails through work, but this is an older picture and I really love how the glitter is kind of summery/spring like.

What it is:

Claire's Bedazzled sandwiched between old Sally Hansen Salon Sweet Creams.
This has been slightly diluted, but be assured it's sheer.

I use Sweet Creams as a base when I have sheer polishes and want a fairly unstained base. It's sheer, but covers enough.

Bedazzled is a nice multicolor glitter, lots of silver, but a lot of warm colors thrown in like aqua and orange.

When the nude goes over the silver, it turns white.

Kind of nice!

I love it!

I kind of want more multi glitter to do this kind of layering.

Thanks for reading my nail polish journal!

  1. I like this, it makes me think of rainbow sprinkles and ice cream. :)

  2. Hehehe! I think of frosting, ice cream and birthday parties! :D

  3. That looks so pretty! I'm sure mixing both polishes would make an awesome franken ;)

  4. Very pretty! Looks great! I'll have to try this :)

  5. It's awesome isn't it! I love that sandwiching glitter provides a way to use the otherwise sheer polishes.

  6. Thank you sweet ladies!!!
I never though of mixing, I have only one bottle of the SH and hate to lose it, hehe! :D

    CC, try it!

LL, yes, it sure gives sheers some legs, I plan on trying this out a bit more, too!

  7. I'm envious that you have a Ross nearby, they always seem to have great polishes and for CHEAP. I'm all about the cheap. lol But in this case, you may be envious that I live near an Ocean State Job Lot...they have a bunch of those Sally Hansen Sweet Creams and similar shades that no one wants, including me, until now. I didn't know what to do with a sheer cream color. I'm going back and getting some of those! Oh and at one time they had all sorts of colors, they just have the cream shades left from that. I bought a ton of those old Salon polishes in every color you can think of for $1.49 each.

  8. I also wanted to say that I just finished reading all the posts I missed since my last visit. I love your layering combinations. And don't worry about taking a break now and then, your posts are interesting and fun and I'll always be back to check out what you are up to and I'm sure your other readers feel the same way.

  9. Hey thanks! I love when you comment!
