I think I've had Maybelline Cutie Pink for a long time. I think it was an early Dollar Tree acquisition because it came in a two-pack.
I hemmed and hawed about keeping it, in fact it ended up on the discard heap many times, but I kept pulling it back out.
Why? Secret Shimmer, my friends! I love shimmer and when a creme pays off with shimmer, you want to find a way to make the whole thing work out!
It is not a strongly pigmented creme, or that is to say, the base the pigment is in isn't strong enough to give coverage on its own, so I put it over a couple of coats of a SH jelly nude, Sweet Cremes.
Bright magenta type of pink. The shimmer is there but a bit shy.
Then you go in a little closer:
There you can see the lilac blue shimmer. Nice!
As an aside now that companies are migrating over to these larger glassier particles, shimmers like this are harder to find, too.
This is three coats, though, it may even be four, I will have to start taking notes.
Thank you for reading my little nail polish journal!

I thought I was a Dollar Tree queen, but I don't have this one (or the nude you mentioned). I love seeing these oldies. :)
ReplyDeleteLOL!
ReplyDeleteI think Dollar Tree has a very weird distribution system. I never see anything now of the new stuff I hear about coming down the pike like Coloramas, but for some reason a Metric Sh!t Tonne of old, frosty Sally Hansens, in every shade of pale pink and rose.
I may have hit pay dirt during a lucky streak!
