Here are a couple of spicy reds that I have. And I don't have many.
China Glaze's Atelier Tulle and Maybelline's Spiced Toffee:
AT is one of the first China Glazes I got, too, along with On The Rocks. It's almost a coral, but really not. It's more of a bright red with an orange feel, rather than a cast to it.
ST I found at the Dollar Tree. I think it was in a two-pack with something else. I have a few tomato-like reds and will probably crack them out later this year or early next year. I have mixed feelings about them, as I feel they are a little dated. A little retro is good, but I don't sport the vintage as much as I used to, so I am not sure about wearing them. Excuse the digression!
Here is a bottle shot:
And here is a comparison on the hand.
They really are nothing like dupes, I just felt they were in the same family of red. I also think my camera reads AT as a little hotter than it actually is, in real life it seems almost more muted, here it looks a bit too vermillion. So, I need to work on images.
These were all taken with a daylight corrected lamp, and I white-balance my camera, so I'm going to have to try some more!
Thank you for reading my little nail polish journal!
very pretty reds. They don't look dated to me :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for that extra feedback!!

Atelier Tulle is gorgeous - and I also don't think of these as vintage.
ReplyDeleteI really like Spiced Toffee, though I don't know if I'd eat real toffee that was this color. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks all!
ReplyDeleteI guess I feel like my grandma when I wear these.
