Sally Hansen - The Good Earth

A recently discontinued Sally Hansen Salon polish.

I, for one, love the sleek square bottles and the user friendly rubberized handle on the cap. I guess, though, trends change. It's new to me to watch polish companies tweak their look. Some do it all the time, some do it very rarely. I'd say, from my experience, Sally Hansen does it a lot. Just based on the anthropology-of-marketing that I've seen at the Dollar Tree.

I honestly do miss the old bottles that have polish color matching handles. It still makes me think of smoke filled rooms in advertising offices with people storyboarding ideas and getting all of them shot down. Then one lone voice comes up and says, "Hey! Color matching caps!" "Genius!" Shades of Mr. Mom. Or maybe I just have Madmen on the brain.

Here's one that seems to not have made the cut into the new Salon line with the new bulbous bottles:

Sally Hansen The Good Earth

Please enlarge this one, it's full of really pretty multi-colored shimmer. A beautiful and warm rich brown with a lot of depth.

This is three coats, easy dry time and decent wear. Good coverage, too!

Thanks for reading my little nail polish journal!

  1. Oh, such a beauty. Kinda jazz-y... Love!

  2. Thank you for your post!

I'm trying all my browns and warm fall colors.

  3. Gorgeous on you. I'm a Madmen fan also. I'm sad that the season ended. Can't wait for it to start again.

  4. Thank you!
I know, I miss it already, what a show! I love it!

  5. This one was a Tracy Reese Fall 2008 limited edition, that's why it didn't make it into the new Salon bottles.

  6. Donna, thank you!!!
I really never heard of Tracy Reese until I started going gaga over Hidden Treasure!
