Ode to Green.
Really. This is what they should have named this polish.
This is a Maybelline that I found on eBay. I was looking for a knock off of the Japanese edition OPI polish called Reflecting Pool, a major top-o-the-list lemming, and though it's really nothing like it at all, it's a beautiful polish!
Maybelline calls it Emerald Flash.
Three coats here.
It's very deep lustrous emerald green. Not too blue, not too kelly green.
This is taken under my daylight corrected desk lamp:
And what a stunner! I think it is a "perle" which really escapes me, I'm so bad with finishes, because I just call it a metallic frost.
This was taken with sunshine from a north facing window
This taken from a bright, south facing window. Blew out the chip in the camera. Thus the limits, again reached with the iPhone.
Very shiny when the sun hits it! What is missing from my photos is the lovely shimmer in it. Nuts!
Wears well, too!
I used, though, another top coat. I was concerned that it wouldn't dry well, so grabbed the WetnWild Mega Last Quick Dry top coat. Maybe it's more hearty than the old Maybelline Salon Vinyl Shine. All that yellowed nitrocellulose in the mix may be what's giving it up on tip wear.
I did use the old stand by base coat, Borghese Magnetico. I really am convinced that this isn't a shabby product.
Thanks for reading!
And all photos can be clicked to enlarge!
I will put that on the main part of the blog.
