Khaki Green: Sally Hansen Dollar Tree Find

There is something charming and sweet about how Sally Hansen worked so hard to match the color of the cap with the color of the polish. Sure, we know it's marketing, but in this age of fixed bottle/cap looks from the big brands like Chanel, OPI, and Dior, you really have to see how hard these guys were trying to get the average drug store shopper to come over and get excited by a nail polish. Unless you are dedicated, it's really quite easy to ignore! Had I been into polish, I know I would have been tickled to see this display with matching caps!

Trendy Creme, as this one is called, has been sitting idly on the wall at the Dollar Tree for some time now. I usually try to check once a week to see if anything has come in that would be interesting (although it appears someone is swiping potential stash out from under my nose, sigh, but then again, what can I do? I've got a life, such as it is!) this one had a torn top, had separated into a bilious tan with a teal green layer of clear on top. Quite an unloved polish!

I grabbed it, shook it up and thought, daaaawg(!), I don't have khaki green!

I do now!

Here she is:

What a nice surprise! Dried rather well! This is three coats. It's a wee bit more tan than the photo. I took this with my daylight corrected desk lamp. I also think it reminds me of "green beige" breeches, which is also so cool!

Thanks for reading!
